To give you an idea of how many ads you have to see every day if you surf the web, here’s a screenshot from a computer’s desktop, taken on a Saturday in December 2018: You can see that there are a lot of ads, and the most recent one is from the AT&T website, which has an ad for the recent movie “A Wrinkle In Time”. But, most browsers are completely designed around the idea that you should have to see ads, because the websites you visit use them to generate revenue to maintain their existence.
